The Festive surprise update has arrived in the world of GTA online. The update is a Christmas-themed update where the players are given random gifts from Rockstar Games and new in game features.

Rockstar States that there is now snow in the streets of the game and other features like Christmas clothing, ugly sweaters, and Christmas-related masks for the characters. Characters are also able to roll up snowballs and throw them at people.

According to Rockstar, there will be new weapons coming with the update this year. They include new homing missile launchers and proximity mines which can be kept even after the seasonal update is over.

Rockstar also stated that like every Christmas update, there will be different rewards to people installing this update. There will be crate drops in the city, where players can go and get a new Christmas tree for their condos or apartments in the game. The update will also include Christmas day rewards to payers inventory list.

It is said by Rockstar that the rewards will be completely random as to what a player might win. From now until the fifth of January, the firework launcher along with firework launcher ammo will be free to any player on certain days which include, Christmas eve, Christmas and New Year’s eve.

“I really like the new clothing items you can win. They are of course very festive and really fun to have,” says Germantown student, Colt Steffen. “The Christmas tree feature and the snow effect over the city are really cool as well. I think Rockstar games did a really nice job making this update.”

“The new update is pretty fun,” says Arrowhead student Joseph Fredrickson. “I kind of wish there was a Christmas vehicle that came with the update or something like that. I love the snow in the game, I think it looks really life-like and the clothing items are really cool as well. I really like the homing missile rocket launcher. It is really fun to play around with.”

“Overall I would have to say I give this update a five star rating. I think Rockstar has done a really good job at making the update. It almost never lags and this is surprising with the snow fall included with the update. It has awesome features and outstanding prizes to win as well if you are a part of the Rockstar social club. Great seasonal update,” says Steffen.

“This update is pretty awesome. I love the rewards you can get and I love the christmas feel I get when I’m playing the game. They did a really nice job making the update and it is really fast to download too. The clothing items you can get are really funny and festive, and the fact that they come free is totally awesome. I think that this update definitely deserves a two thumbs up for a great game running performance,” says Fredrickson.

Rockstar says that the seasonal updates on the fifth of January; however, there are some features of the update ending early such as the Christmas eve and Christmas day prizes.
