OMG, Where Did You Get Your Flannel From?

Apple pie, hot chocolate, fluffy blankets and a cozy shirt. According to historyofthetrend.com, flannels are making their way into the Christmas spirit. Comfy, yet stylish, flannels are currently on some teens’ Christmas lists.

“Not only are they one of the comfiest shirts on the planet, but you can literally wear them with anything you want. They have a ton of different colors and can just as easily be tied around your waist,” says junior Julia Shepard.

Before your parents give away their old clothes to Goodwill, scope out the bag or for a plaid shirt.

“Most of my flannels are actually from my mom or dad, which may sound weird, but it’s true. Some of my friends pay over $30 to just get one flanel from a store like American Eagle. While their doing that, I just go into my mom’s closet and find some old ones she barely wears anymore,” says senior, Kendall Knetzger.

Charlotte Russe is selling all flannels for $20, H&M flannels are priced between $25-$30 and Urban Outfitters are between $50 to $85.

“I think in total I have around 10 flannels. I probably wear two a week because they’re so comfy but still stylish. The best thing about flannels is that you can wear them with practically anything, like a basic T-shirt, and not look like you just rolled out of bed,” says senior Cassidy Valade.

Dressing for unpredictable weather in Wisconsin can be frustrating. But with flannels, if students get hot, they can always take it off and tie it around waist, which is still a trending style.

According to historythetrend.com, “[Flannels are] easy to wear. Whether you’re heading to class, meetings, or study sessions at Starbucks, you’re going to be happy in a flannel shirt. This trusty item will be just as functional for your busy days as it is on your relaxed days, and you’ll always look cute.”

To get some flannel inspiration, students and teens should check out Zooey Deschanel and Taylor Swift’s styles. They have turned flannels into staple pieces in their wardrobes.

With a vast variety of colors and designs, flannels look stylish in a number of settings, and on a variety of people. Free people, H&M, Urban Outfitters, and Target, are just some of the stores that sell flannels.
