Update on Arrowhead’s Varsity Girls Red Lacrosse 2014 Season
The Arrowhead girls Varsity Red Lacrosse team has a current conference record of 9-0 and a non-conference record of 9-1.
Paige Kruse, a junior on Varsity Red said, “Our hardest game this year was a non-conference game against New Trier. They are from Illinois.”
Arrowhead lost to New Trier, 10 to 5.
Kruse also said, “The season has been going very well. We have bonded well as a team and have had a successful season so far.”
Riley Knapek, a junior captain on Varsity Red, said, “The difference from last year is that we lost a lot of seniors. So this year we have a lot of new girls, but we still feel like we have been playing together for a long time.”
Knapek also said she has been leading the team this year by encouraging everyone and by always having a positive attitude.
Kruse said their hardest game coming up is Monday, May 19th against USM.
The game will take place at 5:30 at Arrowhead High School.
Kruse also said, “The playoffs are looking really good for our team this year. We have really come together and are ranked 22nd in the nation right now.”
The team’s best memory according to both Knapek and Kruse was when they played against New Trier. The game was played on the turf under the lights. The starter’s names were announced and the school played the national anthem prior to the game, Kruse said.
Knapek said, “The atmosphere at New Trier was a great experience.”
