Krewella is “Killin’ It” At The Rave

Krewella is American electronic dance music trio from Chicago, Illinois, that was formed in 2007. On March 1st, 2014, Krewella came to The Rave in Milwaukee and performed a concert open to all ages.

Kaila Gurgul, a sophomore at AHS, says, “It was a really different concert because The Rave does an awesome job of making each concert they host different. I have also only been to The Rave one other time and it was a completely different experience from the Krewella concert.”

Some of Krewella’s most popular songs are “Human,” “Killin’ it,” and “Alive.” Their latest album is “Get Wet.” The band plans to release a new album soon and also continue touring around the world as much as possible. This will expand their fan base, which they nicknamed “The Crew.”

Madison Dettmann, a sophomore at AHS, says, “My favorite songs are, ‘One minute,’ ‘Killin’ it,’ and ‘Human.’” All of these songs are fun and let me feel free. These songs are one of the main reasons why I love Krewella so much.”

Right now Krewella is touring for their album “Get Wet.” The tour began on December 19th, 2013. This concert was hosted in Detroit, Michigan. The show got great reviews from critics on the local newspaper Detroit Free Press and got the band excited for the rest of their tour, said lead singer Yasmine Yousaf in an interview with TMZ.

Their last tour date is set for July 11th, 2014, in Le Barcares, France.

Since Krewella is electronic dance music, during their concerts, the fans love to dance and move. The lights during the show are lively and keep the listeners moving.

Gurgul says, “I loved the crowd, the lights, and the way the band entertains the crowd. Overall it had an exciting atmosphere and it was band I would love to see again. Musically speaking, they are amazing live. The band exhibits much talent.”

Dettmann says, “I liked the effects of the lights, they made me keep dancing throughout the entire concert. It was like I never needed to stop. The atmosphere was awesome. This concert was really different for me because it went a lot later than most of the concerts I go to do, and it was cool being out so late.”
