Hartland Street Dance Follows Weeks of Summerfest

The Hartland Street Dance is scheduled for Saturday July 15, 2017 from 5:30 pm to 11 pm, according to the Hartland Chamber of Commerce. The Hartland Street Dance is one of the many different music festivals throughout different cities and towns in Wisconsin this summer, according to various news sources.

The music played throughout these festivals can affect our level of stress, according to an article on psychcentral. Therefore, music festivals are the perfect way to relieve the stress, stress that averages 5.8 on a 10 point scale for high school students according to an article on NBCnews.

“Listening to music can have a tremendously relaxing effect on our minds and bodies, especially slow, quiet classical music,” says psychcentral reporter Jane Collingwood., “This type of music can have a beneficial effect on our physiological functions, slowing the pulse and heart rate, lowering blood pressure, and decreasing the levels of stress hormones.”

One of the first festivals of the summer was Summerfest. The Summerfest website says that the first day of Summerfest was June 28th, and the website states that the final day of Summerfest was on July 9th. This season the Summerfest grounds put on acts such as Luke Bryan, Zac Brown Band, Pink, The Chainsmokers, Dierks Bentley, Cole Swindell, and Sheryl Crow.

According to the Summerfest website, the fairgrounds were celebrating the 5oth year of Summerfest.

“I like that I get to see my friends and people I haven’t talked to in a while,” says Arrowhead senior Carmen Scaringi., “You get to see a lot of people you don’t normally talk to. It’s also fun to see how many different kinds of music a person likes.

However, the days of Summerfest 2017 are now behind us, and Hartland citizens now have to wait another year for Summerfest 2018.

That said, Hartland residence have another chance to let the positive effects of music take over, according to a recent article in Lake Country Now.

“The dance,” says Lake Country Now reporter Steven Martinez, “is among the most anticipated summer events in Lake Country, attracting scores of foodies and music lovers to the quaint streets of Hartland, where the dance has been held since the 1980s,according to the village’s chamber of commerce.”
The Hartland Street Dance will take place on Saturday July 15th from 5:30 pm to 11 pm in downtown Hartland on E. Capitol Drive. Family activities, including the rock climbing walls, face painting, a dunk tank, a mini train and inflatables, will be held from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm, according to an article on Lake Country Family Fun. Featured music artists, Tim Urban and The LoveMonkeys, will be playing from 7 pm to 11 pm.
