During the 2016-2017 school year, spring break for Arrowhead was from April 8th to April 17th. Spring Break is “a week’s vacation for students in the spring, typically around Easter,” according to Google Feedback.

Kyle Lipske, a senior at Arrowhead, says he spent his spring break in California. Lipske says, “Now that I am back from California, my senioritis is real. It is hard for me to focus because it is so close to graduation.”

According to the Huffington Post, senioritis means “missing class, not doing homework, getting lower grades on assignments they would usually ace—all signs of the ever-present senioritis.”

The Huffington Post also says, “After months of preparing for the college admissions process, hitting ‘submit’ on that last college application can feel like collapsing across a huge finish line. What many students fail to realize, however, is that completing applications isn’t the end of the journey—it’s just the beginning.”

Lipske says he has had senioritis ever since he submitted his application and got accepted to the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.

Sammy Jo Heinitz, a senior at Arrowhead, says she spent her spring break in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, with many other Arrowhead seniors. Heinitz says, “My senioritis is horrific. I had such a great time with my friends over spring break that it felt almost like a summer tease.”

“I brought my homework with me to Punta Cana to do on the plane and didn’t do any, and the day I got back I waited until 9 pm to start it. Getting up for school is increasingly [more] difficult. At the beginning of the school year, I would wake up at 6am to get ready for school, and now I wake up around 6:40,” Heinitz says.

Tyler Wrasman, a senior at Arrowhead, says he spent his spring break road tripping to places such as Arizona and Las Vegas. Wrasman says, “We took a lot of hikes and laid out by the pool a lot. It was a nice break from school, and was very relaxing.”

“Waking up on Tuesday morning felt like the first day of school again, since the weather on my trip was so warm. But, there is only 32 days until my last day of school [the last day for seniors] so I am really looking forward to that,” says Wrasman.

The last day for graduating seniors is May 31st and the last day for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors is June 9th, 2017.
