To Buy or Not to Buy Ray Bans

Sunglasses keep the sun out of people’s eyes on hot sunny summer days. A pair of Ray Ban glasses will do the trick and provides great fashion according to consumeraffairs.com.

Ray Ban sunglasses have been manufactured since 1937, according to http://www.ray-ban.com/usa.

There are 85 lens types, 15 styles and 225 different colors to choose from. Each style comes with a defult lens, but all glasses can be made custom according to http://www.ray-ban.com/usa.

“I have the black clubmaster classics and I adore them,” says Arrowhead senior Jenna Condon. “They were kind of expensive but because I take care of my things pretty well I think it was a good investment.”

A pair of black classic clubmaster Ray Ban sunglasses cost $150 according to http://www.ray-ban.com/usa.

Customers will have to decide if they believe the expensive price is worth it for the sunglasses.

The reason the glasses are so expensive is because of the “crystal lenses, which are tinted on the back and made of glass,” says Sara Beneventi who is a global brand director for Ray Ban. “We don’t have plastic lenses. These glasses offer better clarity.”

Ray Ban also carries junior sizes according to http://www.ray-ban.com/usa.

“The black clubmasters with blue lenses are my favorite,” says Hartland fifth grader Emma Schneider. “I have actually been saving up to buy them for a couple months now.”

A pair of junior sized black clubmaster Ray Ban sunglasses is $90 according to http://www.ray-ban.com/usa.

“We tend to sell Ray bans to a variety of ages of customers,” says Hannah Hauser who is a store worker of Wisconsin Vision Inc.

Wisconsin Vision Inc sells Ray Bans and is located at 7528 W. Burleigh Street Milwaukee according to http://www.ray-ban.com/usa.

There’s also manufacturing costs. “All the lenses are made in Italy,” Beneventi said.”No part of the product is made in China.”

Beneventi says Ray-Ban focuses on how long their products hold up. They do this to be sure the materials don’t peel or change their shape with wear and tear.

“My favorite pair are my blue mirrored aviators,” says Arrowhead senior Kamy Kissinger.  “Every cent is worth it for these fantastic glasses.”

Aviator flash lenses are $175 and have to be made as a custom because of the colored lens according to http://www.ray-ban.com/usa.

These locals are buying and using their Ray Bans a lot. The prices seem to be not significant to them due to the designer name and high quality.
